8th July 2008 Windsurfing: Ynyslas Wind Direction: W Wind Stength: 16-20 knots Surf / Sea State: 2 foot messy surf Air Temperature: 15ºC Sea Temperature: 15ºC Weather: Sunny spells Max Speed: Distance Covered: A slow start to the month as i've had a cold and so haven;t managed to get out on the water or on my bike, but it seems as though I've beaten it so I managed a sail today. Nicely powered with my 5.6m and S-Type. Enough wind to blast out upwind, across to the bouy and then acros to (and beyond) Graveyards. I nearly got stuck across there a couple of time though as the wind seemed lighter to the north of the bar, but I managed to get going each time and get back. AndyW was out too and ended up downwind on the southern side of the mouth of the estuary. I risked going in to see him at one point and then had to make a few tacks back upwind to the main bout in order to get back to Ynyslas. Overall though I was nicely powered and enjoying the sunshine. After a couple of hours though the cold I've had got the better of me and I ran out of energy so packed up for the day. |
